What happens if you forget to change oil?

Featured

Most common oil change consists of removing the old lube from a vehicle’s engine and replacing it with well known, right type, new, fresh and highest quality oil only. During engine oil change the oil filter must be changed at the same time, its even recommended that fuel filter is replaced at the same time since they have similar durability ratio over period of usage and both procedures are easy to do on most vehicles these days.  All internal combustion engines have hundreds of moving parts that need lubrication during combustion process. As these parts move and rub against each other, the force of friction creates heat.  In two stroke engines like lawnmowers, motorcycles, boats, oil is premixed in gasoline and lubes the engine internally when combustion occurs. In four stroke engines lubrication is done externally outside the combustion chamber but still encased in engine block, trough complicated system with oil pumps, filters and sensors for temperature and pressure used mainly in cars, boats, and most high end motorcycles. If oil is not replaced common issue is that the parts in engine will become too hot and might get stuck together due to the friction and metal expansion in high heat. Engine will run less efficiently, and as time goes on, it will cause the engine components to warp and wear out leading to complete each individual part damage since everything is connected together and related to each other. Eventually if oil is not changed, the entire engine will shut down and have to be replaced which could cost till 50% of vehicle value for replacement of whole engine since oil changes are owners responsibility and in most cases it wont be covered by dealership or insurance if you simply forget your oil maintenance.
